Zurich, Switzerland – June, 2016 – CloudSigma, a Swiss hybrid cloud service provider today announced the launch of the company’s fourth new cloud location in 2016 at Atman’s data centre facility in Warsaw. CloudSigma will operate the cloud location through a dedicated Polish subsidiary providing end to end Polish legal coverage and data protection ensuring full and exclusive compliance with Polish data protection requirements and avoiding exposure to any foreign jurisdictions outside of Poland.
The company’s highly flexible customer defined cloud environment will be targeted at Polish companies requiring high performance, security and control over their cloud environment for both hybrid and public cloud deployments. The partnership between Atman and CloudSigma allows close integration of functionality and security aspects beyond the boundary of the cloud to include networking and private physical deployments within the Atman network and facilities.
Robert Jenkins, CEO and co-founder of CloudSigma commented “The cloud offering in Poland is a big step for CloudSigma allowing the company to attract new customers in Eastern Europe, as well as allow the deployment of highly available cloud clusters between the three existing cloud platform of CloudSigma across Europe – Zurich, Frankfurt and Warsaw. We’ve been working with some of Polish companies in Zurich for years so finding the right partner in Poland to expand to a local Polish cloud location is a natural next step. In particular we are very positive about partnering with Atman as it allows us to deliver a great deal of additional value in integrating the benefits of a multitenant environment into Polish companies’ infrastructure strategy in a uniquely secure way not possible through other cloud service providers within that market that do not have the level of cooperation and interaction that we do with Atman,” said Robert Jenkins, CEO and co-founder of CloudSigma.
A key component of the cloud platform for the local market is the strong hybrid cloud capabilities of Atman allowing Polish companies to start utilising a world-class cloud computing environment whilst utilising private IP connectivity only and avoiding use of the internet entirely if the customer so chooses. Additionally this solution remains solely under Polish law without exposure to the US patriot act or other legal jurisdictions. This strength is complimented by fully integrated disaster recovery as a service and other value added services that leverage the power of the hybrid cloud model to combine cloud delivered storage and compute environments in conjunction with existing infrastructure investments. Atman’ s extensive network connectivity allows Polish customers to connect with low latency into the CloudSigma ISO27001 certified cloud environment to create a seamless solution between their existing colocation and/or office deployments and the cloud.
“As the largest data centre operator in Poland we see several benefits of partnership with CloudSigma. It is one of the worldwide known cloud technology companies, providing their services to organisations such as European Space Agency and Deutsche Boerse. This cooperation is an important part of our corporation’s strategy and responds to a current trend of IT market consolidation,” said Sylwester Biernacki, CEO of ATM.
IT market analytics predict still growing demand on cloud-based services. According to the newest International Data Corporation (IDC) report this sector was one of the fastest developing IT-areas, raising seven times faster than a traditional sector. In 2014 Polish expenditures on private and public cloud amounted to 130,3 mld $ and were 30,2% higher than two years ago.
CloudSigma and Atman are offering supported proof of concept cloud environments to potential customers for the new location.
