CloudSigma is proud to announce the launch of its cloud offering at the DARZ data centre in Darmstadt near Frankfurt, Germany. CloudSigma now serves the key German market with a native deployment.
Zurich, Switzerland – September, 2016 – Following its strategy of geographical expansion during 2016, CloudSigma, a public cloud IaaS provider with headquarters in Switzerland, today announced the launch of the company’s second new public cloud location for Europe in 2016 hosted in the DARZ data centre facility in Darmstadt near Frankfurt, Germany. The new cloud location is operated via a local German subsidiary providing end to end German legal coverage and jurisdiction complying with Germany’s strong data protection requirements and avoiding exposure to any foreign jurisdictions for customers using the cloud there.
CloudSigma’s local German offering brings it’s highly flexible customer defined cloud environment to the German market targeting companies requiring high performance, high security and a high degree of control over their cloud environment. The partnership between DARZ and CloudSigma is the perfect compliment, extending the high security approach to computing beyond the cloud to the physical deployment layer that forms its foundation in the form of a world class data center solution at DARZ. The DARZ data centre is housed in the former gold vault building of the Hessische Landeszentralbank.
Robert Jenkins, CEO and co-founder of CloudSigma commented “We couldn’t be more excited about bringing our cloud offering to the German market directly. We’ve been working with some of Germany’s leading companies in Zurich for years so finding the right partner in Germany to extend our service to a local German cloud location is a natural next step. Partnering with DARZ allows CloudSigma to continue delivering the same service quality to the German market and offer compelling hybrid and other value added service components”, said Robert Jenkins, CEO and co-founder of CloudSigma.
A key component of CloudSigma’s expansion into the German market is the strong hybrid cloud capabilities of DARZ allowing German companies to start utilising a world-class cloud computing environment whilst remaining solely under German law without exposure to the US patriot act or other legal jurisdictions. This strength is complimented by fully integrated disaster recovery as a service and other value added services that leverage the power of the hybrid cloud model to combine cloud delivered storage and compute environments in conjunction with existing infrastructure investments. DARZ’s extensive network connectivity allows German customers to connect with low latency into the CloudSigma cloud location to create a seamless environment between their existing colocation and/or office deployments and the cloud.
“It was serendipity that DARZ met CloudSigma at just the moment when DARZ was launching its own next generation hybrid cloud solution. By bringing on board CloudSigma as a partner within its data center, DARZ can offer a leading public cloud provider within its facility for cloud bursting, disaster recovery and more. We are very positive that the German market will prove to become a hub for the cloud in Europe building on Germany’s inherent advantages of excellent infrastructure reliability and strong data protection laws. We already see a strong pipeline for CloudSigma’s new cloud within our data center”, said Lars Goebel, Director IT and Sales at DARZ.
CloudSigma’s new cloud location will provide the most advanced cloud infrastructure bed in Germany run solely on Intel’s newly released v4 high performance range E5-2697 processors paired with 2400Mhz RAM offering true high performance computing to customers of all sizes. CloudSigma and DARZ are offering supported proof of concept cloud environments to potential customers for the new location.
As a full IT Service Provider, DARZ offers a wide range of IT Services such as Colocation, Hosting and Managed services in their own 2,400 sqm high security data centre. DARZ ensures the highest physical security and operational availability for IT-Systems and network systems for their customers. As a carrier neutral facility, DARZ offers access to different carrier and cloud service providers in DARZ and Frankfurt. Opened in July 2014, DARZ is located in the old vault building of the bank of Hessen where gold reserves were stored in the past.
